In Living Color

This morning I got to thinking about how my dear mom, the self-appointed family photographer, used to meticulously, and with great care and enthusiasm, make family photo albums which we still have today.

She was tireless in her pursuit of this.

My mom had neither journalistic nor artistic instincts but still photographed and organized albums with the utmost zeal and enthusiasm.

As a kid, I never much appreciated her motivations or efforts, until I became an adult and the family photographer myself.

Thank you, Mom.

Today, I have 8 different iPhones, going back to the iPhone 6s.

Yes, of course, the contents of each iPhone, are safely backed up on external storage.

But the photos intentionally remain on these phones.

They are my own family albums I get to revisit them, 24/7, 365.

And revisit I do!

They are moments and memories I’ll never forget.

Not all of my family memories, even the precious ones, are recorded, but enough of them are.

What is recorded, in living color, frame after frame, face after face, space after space, and place after place is a record of my creative life and journey, over the past 13 years, since converting to iPhone cameras back in 2011
