Like Peanut Butter and Jelly

I’m in the thick of yet another residential move—this time in 100-degree heat! And as if that wasn’t enough, I’m also getting ready for a month-long road trip along the East Coast. Life is certainly busy, busy, busy.

The good news? I’ve finally caught up on sleep after seven intense weeks of work and cruising through the breathtaking landscapes of Norway and Iceland. During those weeks, I had the privilege of sharing my passion for photography with Baby Boomer and senior cruisers through interactive lectures. It’s been so rewarding to see their photos pop up in my inbox and on social media—proof that they were listening, absorbing, and getting inspired!

What I love about photography is its inclusiveness. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, your age, gender, or background—photography is for everyone. It’s a universal language that transcends all boundaries.

But sometimes, life gets in the way of getting out to shoot as much as I’d like. In those moments, I turn to my trusty camera roll, where tens of thousands of photographic treasures are waiting for me. It’s like carrying an old-school family album in my pocket, the kind your mom used to make. A collection of memories that I can revisit anytime, anywhere.

I rarely have the time to organize these files as I should. I often find myself scrolling quickly through them, smiling at moments captured, favoriting a few, maybe making an album or two, and then getting back to life.

It’s funny how intertwined life and photography are. One feeds the other in this endless loop. Life inspires photography, and photography gives back by preserving life’s fleeting moments. They’re like peanut butter and jelly—inseparable. I truly can’t imagine my life without photography.

What an extraordinary time to be an image maker. So, seize the day. Get out there.
